If you want to have the best performance possible, it’s important to think about your presentation while singing karaoke. Have you ever been somewhere and witnessed someone singing karaoke and they looked like they’d rather be dissecting a frog in biology class? There’s no point in getting up in front of a crowd with a microphone unless you’re prepared to entertain them, and to do that, you need to think about your presentation.
For instance, let’s say you’re going to sing Beatles songs when you do karaoke. What if you dressed like John Lennon, and wore his signature eyeglasses? People will certainly remember you, and if you pull off ‘Imagine’ wonderfully, you’re going to be an entertainer – not just someone up there singing karaoke. The same could be said for any kind of songs you sing. Maybe you’re singing 80’s pop songs and you dress like Cyndi Lauper or Madonna.
Another thing you can consider is props. If you know how to play the guitar, imagine getting up and singing a Jewel song with your guitar on your lap. What a presentation! Or, maybe you’ll use something else for your performance – a signature of the artist you’ll be covering. No matter what you do, consider your performance a little more in-depth before heading out to karaoke night. Not only will you give a better performance, but you’ll have charisma and the crowd will love you.
